The Bye Bye Malaria Schools Festival is CVAMU’s annual platform for malaria education, child participation and public engagement.
The festival brings together students, teachers, parents, health workers, government representatives, schools and partners to learn, share ideas and take action against malaria.
Through creative and practical activities, children learn how malaria spreads, how to prevent mosquito bites and why fever or other signs of illness should be reported immediately to a trusted adult.
The festival aims to:

✅ Give children a safe platform to share their experiences and ideas.
✅ Make malaria education practical, enjoyable and memorable.
✅ Promote sleeping under insecticide-treated mosquito nets every night.
✅ Encourage prompt testing and appropriate treatment.
✅ Address malaria myths and misinformation.
✅ Recognize children, schools and partners contributing to malaria prevention.
✅ Build partnerships for child-centred malaria action.

Children learn best when they can participate, ask questions and connect health information with their everyday lives. The festival helps children develop accurate malaria knowledge and the confidence to practise and share healthy behaviours. Schools also gain educational materials, partnerships and practical ideas for strengthening malaria prevention.
